1. About SIMU

SIMU is an educational technology platform operated by Simuverse Limited. It is designed to provide AI-assisted learning and tutoring support to students in Uganda, with a particular focus on secondary education and the Ugandan national curriculum.

SIMU may be accessed through web-based services and supported messaging channels, including WhatsApp. The platform is currently being developed, tested, and introduced through pilots and early deployments. Features, curriculum coverage, availability, and functionality may change as the platform develops.

2. Eligibility and User Accounts

SIMU is intended primarily for secondary school students, teachers, parents, and school administrators in Uganda.

Where a student is under the age of 18, use of SIMU should take place with the involvement or consent of a parent, guardian, or authorised school representative, as applicable.

Where an account is required, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account and must notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.

3. Use of the Platform

You may use SIMU for lawful educational and learning purposes. You agree not to:

• (a) Use SIMU for any unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose
• (b) Attempt to gain unauthorised access to SIMU's systems, accounts, databases, or infrastructure
• (c) Copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse engineer any part of the platform without permission
• (d) Use SIMU to generate or distribute content that is unlawful, harmful, misleading, or intended to cause harm
• (e) Attempt to interfere with the operation, security, or availability of the platform
• (f) Use automated means to access or extract information from the platform except where expressly authorised by SIMU

4. AI-Generated Educational Content

SIMU uses artificial intelligence to provide educational explanations, answers, questions, and other learning support. Although SIMU is designed to use curriculum-aligned source materials, AI-generated responses may occasionally contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.

SIMU is a supplementary learning tool and does not replace qualified teachers, official curriculum materials, textbooks, or professional educational guidance. Students should verify important information with their teachers and appropriate educational materials.

SIMU does not guarantee particular academic results, examination results, grades, or other educational outcomes from use of the platform.

5. Curriculum Materials and Intellectual Property

The SIMU platform, including its software, branding, interface, original content, technology, and other materials created by Simuverse Limited, remains the property of Simuverse Limited or its respective licensors, where applicable.

Certain educational and curriculum materials used by SIMU may belong to or be licensed from third parties. Nothing in these Terms grants users ownership of those materials or permission to reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit them.

You retain ownership of original information or feedback you submit to SIMU. By submitting feedback or other content, you grant SIMU permission to use, store, and process that content as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, evaluate, and improve the platform, subject to our Privacy Policy.

6. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of SIMU is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information. SIMU seeks to comply with applicable data protection and privacy requirements in Uganda, including the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.

Where SIMU is used by students through a school, additional arrangements may apply between SIMU and the school concerning student accounts, access, reporting, and data protection.

7. Availability and Changes to the Platform

SIMU is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Because the platform is still being developed and tested, we do not guarantee that every feature, subject, curriculum area, or service will always be available or uninterrupted.

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue features of SIMU where reasonably necessary for development, maintenance, security, legal compliance, or other operational reasons.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Simuverse Limited and its directors, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from or connected with use of, or inability to use, the platform.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Where a dispute arises concerning the use of SIMU, the parties will seek to resolve the matter in good faith and, where appropriate, through discussion or mediation before pursuing other available remedies.
