1. About SIMU

SIMU is an AI-powered educational tutoring platform designed for Ugandan secondary school students (Senior 1 through Senior 6). The platform delivers personalised, curriculum-aligned tutoring based on content approved by Uganda's National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC).

SIMU is accessible via web browser, WhatsApp, and (in future) offline tablet applications. SIMU is currently in a pilot and testing phase. Features, content, and availability may change without prior notice.

2. Eligibility and User Accounts

SIMU is intended for use by secondary school students (typically aged 12–19), teachers, and school administrators in Uganda.

Students under the age of 18 must have the consent of a parent, guardian, or authorised school representative to use SIMU. By allowing a minor to use SIMU, the consenting adult agrees to these Terms on the minor's behalf.

To access certain features, you may be required to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

3. Use of the Platform

You may use SIMU solely for lawful educational purposes consistent with the Ugandan secondary school curriculum. You agree NOT to:

• (a) Use SIMU for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose
• (b) Attempt to gain unauthorised access to SIMU's systems or databases
• (c) Copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the platform
• (d) Use SIMU to generate content for commercial purposes without written permission
• (e) Submit false, misleading, or harmful content through the platform
• (f) Attempt to manipulate AI responses for purposes other than genuine learning

4. AI-Generated Content

SIMU uses artificial intelligence to generate educational tutoring responses. While designed to align with NCDC-approved curriculum content, AI-generated responses may occasionally contain errors, inaccuracies, or incomplete information.

SIMU does not replace qualified teachers, textbooks, or official NCDC curriculum materials. Users should treat SIMU as a supplementary learning tool and verify important information with their teachers and approved textbooks.

SIMU shall not be held liable for any academic outcomes, examination results, or decisions made based on AI-generated content.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, software, AI models, branding, design, and technology comprising the SIMU platform are the property of SIMU Educational Technology or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of any original content you submit to the platform (such as questions or feedback). By submitting content, you grant SIMU a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, and process such content for the purpose of improving the platform.

6. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of SIMU is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information. SIMU complies with Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.

7. Availability and Modifications

SIMU is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the platform at any time.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of Uganda, SIMU Educational Technology, its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the platform.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes shall be resolved through mediation in Kampala, Uganda.
