About
It is not profitable until everyone profits.
SIMU is built by Simuverse Limited, an AI company in Kampala. We build one thing: a tutor that knows the Ugandan syllabus and can prove where its answers come from.
Where this started
The problem is not a technology problem.
Ugandan secondary classrooms routinely run past sixty students to a teacher, and the Competency-Based Curriculum asks those students to demonstrate that they can apply what they know. Applying something takes practice with feedback, and feedback is exactly what does not scale in a room of sixty.
A tutor closes that gap for the students whose families can pay for one. Everyone else revises alone. That is the gap SIMU exists to close, and it is why the student plan is free.
How we build
Grounded, or not shipped.
Cite, or say so
A tutor that invents a confident wrong answer is worse than no tutor. If SIMU cannot find the material behind a question, it tells the student instead of filling the gap.
The national curriculum, not a generic one
We work from NCDC materials and UNEB assessment formats, because that is what students are actually sitting.
Meet students on the phone they have
WhatsApp first, low data, works on a shared handset. A product that needs a personal smartphone has already excluded most of the country.
Teachers see everything
Nothing SIMU tells a student is hidden from the person responsible for teaching them.
